Welcome to 2019 - New Year Declutter Challenge
Happy New Year! 🙂
2018 was the start of Chaos to Order, but this year will see Chaos to Order really begin! I have some exciting things planned and can't wait to share.
Firstly, the Chaos to Order New Year Declutter Challenge! Over the next 4 weeks, I will be holding a challenge each week to declutter a certain area of the home. This will mean that once completed at the end of the month, your home should be clutter free! What better way to start the new year?
This week is Week 1 and we will be tackling the WARDROBE, BEDSIDE DRAWERS and BATHROOM CUPBOARDS. Are you wondering where to start? I have put together some tips below to help you with the Challenge!
- Set aside 1 hour each day. This may seem alot however this can be done at any time of the day - first thing in the morning, last thing in the evening... If you don't have 1 hour each day, set up blocks of time when you know you're free to add up to 7 hours for the week, e.g. 2 hours on Wednesday afternoon, 1 hour on Thursday before bed, 4 hours on Sunday morning.
- Remember you are DECLUTTERING, not cleaning or organising. This means only purging and getting rid of unwanted items (think - unwanted Christmas Presents). If you want to clean/organise/tidy you are more than welcome to but it is not part of the challenge. (HINT: We will be doing all that in upcoming months)
- There is no one 'rule' to decluttering but my usual go tos are: If you don't love it, haven't used/worn it in the last 18 months or not planning to use or use it in the next 6 months OR it is broken and can't be fixed, it's time to get let it go.
So what are you waiting for? Let's get Decluttering!
